This is a handy database for small wineries that runs on Microsoft Access. To work properly all vineyard blocks should be defined in the database and then each load of grapes is recorded as it arrives at the winery. That way a running record of the composition of the wine can be maintained. All additions are recorded for wines and tanks, and a running addition rate and total maintained for each wine as wines are moved and blended. Similarly, analyses can be entered and updated, and as wines are pumped together analyses are transferred, and the new average values are calculated. It is possible to view tank history and wine history, and print a variety of reports. I have tested it out now in Italy on a 2500 tonne harvest, and fixed the major problems that existed - mostly with additions. I haven't tested the bottling part though. There are still lots of little things I could do (and some big things), but they will have to wait.
